University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce Announcement No. 37 / 2020

According to the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in many countries especially in the People’s Republic of China, Hongkong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Singapore.

University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) is concerned about health issue of faculty members, staff, and students regarding the said outbreak by constantly monitoring and following the preventive guidelines of Ministry of Higher Education as the University earlier announced and practised. To enhance the effectiveness in disease control according to the current situation, UTCC requests Deans and Supervisors to announce to faculty members, staff, and students to strictly follow the recommendations on the preventive measures of Novel Corona Virus 19 (COVID-19) of Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health as the guidelines for working, conducting classes and meetings, as well as other educational activities on campus.

Faculty members, staff, and students should consider postponing their trips to those countries at risk of COVID-19 until the outbreak situation is improved. In case the trips are unavoidable, faculty members, staff or students must be aware of their health concern by carrying adequate masks and alcohol sanitizers. Upon returning to Thailand, they are obligated to undergo screening and monitoring for COVID-19 at a hospital and shall immediately notify and submit the medical certificate to supervisors or faculty members. If an infection or risk of disease is diagnosed, faculty members or supervisors shall consider whether or not the said person should refrain from attending class or be absent from work until the person fully recovers. UTCC will closely monitor the situation. Any updated notifications of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) by the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Higher Education or concerned government agencies. UTCC will take immediate actions to announce appropriate measures.
