Planting Change – UTCC iSM Students Support ESG Through Mangrove Planting
At UTCC International School of Management (iSM), students recently took part in a meaningful CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) project—planting mangrove trees at Bang Pu. This hands-on activity supports ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals and promotes long-term sustainability in Thailand’s coastal regions.
Despite the muddy ground, everyone participated with great energy and purpose. It was more than just planting trees—it was about making a real impact. The project helped raise awareness about environmental protection and climate action while giving students a chance to apply their business knowledge in a real-world setting.
The Environmental aspect of ESG was at the heart of this project. Mangrove forests play a vital role in preserving biodiversity, reducing carbon emissions, and protecting shorelines from erosion. By taking part, our students directly contributed to building a greener, more sustainable future.
From a Social perspective, the activity encouraged teamwork, leadership, and a sense of community. It reminded us that true business success includes giving back and acting responsibly. Finally, on the Governance side, the project promoted ethical values and responsible decision-making—key skills that business students need in today’s competitive and fast-changing world.
At UTCC iSM, we believe that business education should go beyond the classroom. Activities like this show how future leaders can balance profit with purpose, and how small actions can create meaningful change.
